Blog > A Right Royal Splash : Osborne Signs at Queen Victoria’s private Isle of Wight beach.

Osborne, on the Isle of Wight was undoubtedly Queen Victoria's favourite Royal palace - a place where she spent many happy holidays absorbing the peaceful sea views.

Now the beach at Osborne, where Victoria would take a private swim is finally open to the public.

The finely restored beach house, now houses the popular Beach Cafe and I was delighted to be commissioned to create some bright, period correct signs, to put the finishing touch to the project.

I used solid hardwood frames with marine plywood panels and 6 coats of  high quality coach enamel paint to ensure these signs withstand the tough marine environment, as well as pulling in vistors to the cafe.
